EKYOMBO NOAH'S ARK

In the quiet village of Namabaale, Kassanda District., 9-year-old Joyce Babirye woke up one morning with a small discomfort in her right eye. Within days, what started as a simple infection turned into a nightmare. Her eye swelled dramatically, becoming red, painful, and almost completely shut. The once bright and playful girl could no longer play with her friends or even attend school. The pain was unbearable.

Her father, a hardworking parent, watched helplessly as his daughter suffered. With no money for hospital treatment and living far from proper medical care, he feared he might lose his daughter forever.
“I felt so helpless,” he said with tears in his eyes. “ is my only child. I didn’t know where to turn.”
That’s when the Ekyombo Noah’s Ark community stepped in.

Through our regular medical outreach program, our team was informed about Joyce’s condition. We quickly mobilized and brought her to the hospital for urgent treatment. The doctors confirmed it was a severe eye infection that needed immediate medical attention.Joyce’s eye was successfully operated by Doctor Dan at Mengo Hospital .Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we covered the hospital bills, medicines, and follow-up care.

Today, Joyce is slowly recovering. The dangerous swelling has reduced, and she is beginning to open her eye again. Though the healing is gradual, the light of hope has returned to her face.

Recently, Joyce and her father came back to visit our team. With deep gratitude, Joyce’s father held his daughter’s hand and said:
“Thank you, Ekyombo Noah’s Ark. You are truly our Noah’s Ark. When we had nowhere to go, you came for us. May God bless everyone who supported my daughter.”
Joyce, still shy but smiling, added softly:
“Thank you for helping my eye.”

This is the power of compassion.
Because of kind hearts like yours, children like Joyce are not only receiving treatment — they are regaining their future.
Every donation to Ekyombo Noah’s Ark helps us respond faster to medical emergencies, run more health camps, and restore hope to vulnerable children and families in rural Uganda.
Together, we can turn pain into healing and tears into smiles.
